Increasing competition for infrastructure talent

Australian based organisations that build, operate and service data centres can no longer afford to compete only amongst themselves for the talent they need to grow.

According to Infrastructure Australia, there are plans to deliver $230 billion in major public infrastructure, 1.2 million new homes and four times the investment in clean energy infrastructure over the next five years.

With so much of that investment dependent on electrical and telecommunications related skills, that adds up to even more intensive competition for talent across a broader infrastructure sector that is currently estimated to employ only 1 worker for every 2.3 potential jobs.
