Alliance SI recognised for Work Health & Safety Excellence at the NECA Awards

For organisations responsible for critical infrastructure, effective safety management goes beyond compliance. It helps protect people, manage operational risk and support dependable delivery in complex environments.

Alliance SI has been recognised for its approach, receiving the Work Health & Safety – Excellence in Action Award at the 2026 NECA Victoria Excellence Awards, which celebrate leading achievements across Australia’s electrical and communications contracting industry.

Managing risk in critical environments

Alliance SI delivers electrical and communications infrastructure across data centres, construction sites and other mission-critical facilities, where changing site conditions and complex operational requirements demand careful risk management.

Managing risk effectively in these environments means understanding what our people experience on-site and continually looking for better ways to protect them.

One example recognised as part of the award was Alliance SI’s individually moulded hearing protection program, introduced for employees exposed to hazardous noise. Tailored to individual workers and their exposure requirements, the protection helps maintain communication, situational awareness, and alarm audibility in complex operational environments.

The initiative reflects a broader approach to safety at Alliance SI: listening to our people, understanding the risks they face and turning those insights into practical improvements on-site.

Safety and dependable delivery go hand in hand

In critical infrastructure, strong safety management creates confidence in how work is planned, risks are managed and teams operate on-site.

This discipline becomes increasingly important as projects grow in scale and complexity, requiring clear processes, accountability and consistent standards across delivery.

Rod Cassidy, Executive Chairman at Alliance SI, said the award reflects an approach that has long been part of the business.:

At Alliance SI, we believe an organisation should enable its people to be the best they can be, and safety is the foundation that makes that possible. Looking after our people, having strong processes and delivering dependable outcomes for our customers are all connected.

I’m very proud to see our team recognised for the work they continue to put into improving how we work and keeping our people and others safe. This recognition belongs to our HSEQ team and our people on-site who put that into practice every day.”

As the demands on Australia’s critical infrastructure continue to grow, maintaining these standards will remain central to how Alliance SI protects its people and delivers dependable infrastructure.
