Recently a customer came to us at Alliance SI with some network and security issues. These issues included slowness, unable to secure their cabinet in a multi use area, unable to identify active switch ports due to obstructions, equipment that was running hot due to reduced air flow and the risk of outages when adding new patches to the cabinet.
Alliance SI was engaged to solve these problems. We started with a systematic audit; we assessed the situation and decided the best course of action would be a planned outage.
We removed all the equipment, replaced the cabinet with a correctly sized cabinet, redirected all cables from the ceiling, installed horizontal and vertical cable management, reinstalled equipment and repatched all cables in the unprecedented timeframe of one weekend.
Our customer was thrilled with the outcome with this project highlighting the need for properly engineered and deployed infrastructure.
